The Watcher

Bot Commands

Everything the Grey Watch Discord bot can do. Type /help in Discord for a quick version of this.

Guild & Lore
/veil
Posts a random line of Grey Watch lore.
/roster
Pulls the live in-game guild roster from Blizzard's API. Only works once the guild actually exists on a realm (GUILD_NAME/GUILD_REALM configured). Until then it replies that the guild isn't set up yet.
Characters
/char <name>
A quick armory-style embed with a character's spec, level, item level, race, and guild, without leaving Discord.
/link <name>
Connects your Discord account to a character. Do this once, and raid signups, guild achievement badges, and attendance tracking all attach to you automatically instead of needing to be entered each time. You can link more than one character (alts); /raid signups will let you pick which one you're bringing.
/unlink <name>
Removes a character you've linked. Scoped to your own account, so you can't unlink someone else's character.
/mystats
Private summary only you can see: your linked character(s) with live stats, total raids attended, your guild achievements, and any raid confirmations still waiting on you.
/whois <member>
Same idea as /mystats but for someone else, visible to the channel: their linked character(s), attendance, and achievement count.
Auction House
/price <item>
Current buyout, supply, and a short price trend for any auctionable item, pulled from the same auction house history tracked on the Market page.
Raids
/raid <title> <date> [size] [tanks] [heals] [dps] [notes]
Posts a raid signup embed. Only title and date are required; everything else is optional and has sensible defaults.
Reading dates: date accepts casual input like 17th 10pm or next tuesday 9pm. It's assumed to be Eastern time, and if that day-of-month has already passed this month, it's rolled to next month automatically (e.g. typing "4th" on the 16th means next month's 4th). Verbose formats like Friday Sept 19 8pm work too. Whatever gets parsed is shown to every viewer in their own local timezone automatically, plus a relative time ("in 2 days"). If the text genuinely can't be understood, it's shown exactly as typed instead of blocking the raid post.
How Signups Work
🛡 Tank (button)
💚 Heal (button)
🎯 DPS (button)
🚫 Remove (button)
Mark complete (reaction, leader only)
Cancel (reaction, leader only)
1
Click a role button
Click 🛡 Tank / 💚 Heal / 🎯 DPS on the raid post. Clicking a different role than the one you're currently signed up as switches you over; clicking Remove takes you off the signup entirely.
2
Pick your character, privately, in the channel
The bot replies with a message only you can see. If you've run /link, it's a dropdown of your linked character(s); pick one and you're done in one click. No linked character yet? Click Paste Character Link, which pops up a small form right there: search yourself up on the Characters page, hit Copy Link, and paste it in. No DMs required either way.
3
Confirmed (or waitlisted)
You're either confirmed (you show up in the roster on the raid post, and the live "👥 Roster" counts update immediately) or, if that role was capped and already full, waitlisted. Nothing counts toward your raid attendance until you're actually confirmed.
4
Waitlist promotion is automatic
If a confirmed person for a role leaves (via the Remove button), the longest-waiting waitlisted person for that same role is automatically promoted and DMed. No officer has to do anything.
5
Leader can move people manually
Clicking 🔧 Manage (leader only) opens a private menu listing everyone who's submitted a character. Picking someone toggles them between confirmed and waitlisted directly, useful when a specific comp call matters more than sign-up order. It ignores role caps since it's an explicit override, and whoever gets moved is notified by DM.
6
Leader closes it out
Whoever ran /raid reacts ✅ when it's done (marks it complete instantly) or ❌ to cancel it. Cancelling asks for a one-click confirmation first, and a cancelled raid doesn't count toward anyone's attendance at all. Anyone else's click on ✅/❌ is ignored.
Role caps are all-or-nothing per role, not per raid. Leave tanks/heals/dps blank on /raid and there's no cap at all, so anyone can confirm. Set any one of them and only that role gets capped; the others stay open. There's no auto-computed default split. It's either open or exactly what you typed.
