Wardens of the Veil
The Grey Watch are the wardens of the Veil, that thinning membrane between Azeroth and the Shadowlands where the dead do not yet rest and the living dare not tread. We are those who have already crossed once.
We take our name from the grey mists of Tirisfal. A place of permanent overcast, with no sun, no warmth, no pretense of something better coming. Other Forsaken wake in those mists. We felt purpose. That is the difference.
The Shadowlands are not empty. They churn. The anima ebbs and surges through rifts left behind by forces larger than any one war. The Veil has never fully healed. We watch the cracks. We see what seeps through. When something crosses that shouldn't, we return it.
We do not wage war on death itself. Death is not the enemy. What we oppose is the wrong things moving in the wrong direction: the willful, the hungry, the things that have no right to be here and know it.
The Grey Watch does not recruit. We do not post missives or seek the ambitious and the eager. Death is the only initiation, and most of us have already passed it.
The Watch finds those who wake in Tirisfal's grey mists and feel, not dread, but clarity. Those for whom the Veil is not a wall but a threshold they have already stood at.
If you are reading this and feel that pull, that sense that you have already been doing this without knowing what to call it, then you already know what you are.
"We have already given everything.
What remains is will."
